Workshop: Veggie Gardening through Fall - Sept 2
Ever wanted to grow your own peas, salad greens, herbs, broccoli, kale, cabbage, beets and more? Let’s help you continue to grow and eat from your backyard as the weather cools of for fall and winter!
This workshop is open to beginner growers as well as those who have tried out summer veggies or flowers but want to learn how to build in cool season veggies plus get a head start on flowers for the coming year.
At this workshop, you’ll learn:
-How to prepare your raised beds, containers or in-ground garden for cool weather plant lovers
-Which veggies and flowers you can sow directly in the garden and when to get started
-Which plants are best purchased as seedlings and transplanted into the garden
-How to incorporate fall plants with the veggies and flowers you may still have growing in your beds or containers from the summer
-Fall pests to anticipate and organic solutions
-When to cover plants during cold weather for the longest possible harvest
You’ll leave with:
-Planting timelines for our growing area
-A cool weather seed collection of easy-to-sow veggies and flowers to take home
-Optional: I’ll have fall veggie, herb and flower plants for sale early as an exclusive for workshop participants only (ahead of my general plant sale on Fri, Sept 12th). Plants will be available for $3/container
